Directions and Parking
How to find the Ocean Beach volleyball courts, where to park, and public transport options.
The volleyball courts are on the sand at Ocean Beach, next to the main beach restrooms. Dog Beach and the San Diego River are to the north. The Ocean Beach Pier is to the south.

George Stepanof Volleyball Courts 5200 Voltaire St, San Diego, CA 92107
Driving
From Interstate 8, continue west until the freeway ends and becomes Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. Turn right on Voltaire Street and follow it west to the beach. The courts are at the end of Voltaire, on the sand.
Parking
- The beach lot at the west end of Voltaire Street, next to the courts
- Street parking along Abbott Street, which runs parallel to the beach
- Residential streets inland when the lots are full
Parking is limited on summer weekends and fills through the morning. Dog Beach is immediately north and draws its own crowd to the same lots, so the pressure is not only from volleyball.
Public transport
MTS bus route 35 runs between Old Town Transit Center and Ocean Beach. Route 923 also serves the area. Check MTS for current schedules.
Walking from Newport Avenue
From the south end of Newport Avenue, walk to the seawall and head north along the beach or the Ocean Front Walk path. The restrooms are the landmark, and the courts are on the sand beside them.
